The president of Moraine Park Technical College says the first of four referendum projects is designed to address a worker shortage in the manufacturing sector. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Wednesday afternoon on the first phase of a two-phase project updating the Fond du lac Advanced Manufacturing and Trades area on the Fond du Lac campus, with the addition of the Automation, Innovation and Robotics Center. MPTC president Bonnie Baerwald says part of the plan for manufacturers is to invest heavily in automation. The project also includes an update of the B-Wing facilities. The nearly $13 million project is expected to be completed in a little more than a year.
