MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay-area lawmakers are asking the Wisconsin Legislature’s budget committee to hand tourism officials $2 million to help stage the 2025 NFL draft at Lambeau Field. Sen. Rob Cowles and Rep. David Steffen submitted a motion to the committee on Monday seeking the money for Experience Greater Green Bay, a group that promotes tourism in the Green Bay area. The lawmakers told the committee in a summary that they believe the event will cost the Packers $7.5 million. They said the team has committed to funding more than $1 million of the cost and hopes to raise another $4 million from partner organizations to generate a total of $5.5 million. Aides for committee leaders didn’t immediately respond to an email.
