The CEO of the YMCA of Dodge County says an expansion of its Health and Wellness Center is urgently needed to meet a surge of community interest coming out of the pandemic. Dirk Langfoss says the project will increase usable fitness center space by 31%. Langfoss says YMCA space has reached it’s capacity to serve the current demand, and additional 12 percent growth is projected this year. President of Marshfield Medical Center Beaver Dam, Angelia Foster, says the Beaver Dam Community Hospitals Foundation, Inc. has awarded a $500,000 grant toward the project. The project adds 1,600 square feet on the second floor and expands the first-floor multi-purpose area by 800 square feet with room for 50 more pieces of state-of-the-art fitness equipment. A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Monday, June 5.
