The Fond du Lac County Clerk says subpoenas from MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell for voting records from the 2020 presidential election in several Wisconsin counties including Fond du Lac have been dropped. Clerk Lisa Freiberg says she learned the news on the Friday before Memorial Day. “We’ve been dealing with this since last September and we finally got good news that My Pillow has decided not to pursue the subpoenas,” Freiberg told WFDL news. Freiberg says the county spent nearly $5,000 to hire outside counsel to handle the federal case. Former president Donald Trump falsely claimed the election was stolen. Freiberg says the vote totals in Fond du Lac County were accurate and she’s relieved the matter is over. In addition to Fond du Lac County, subpoenas were issued to county clerk’s offices in Winnebago, Racine, Green, and Ozaukee counties.
