6-28-23 fdl city manager says shared revenue plan is good news for fdl

The Fond du Lac city manager says a bipartisan deal to provide more funding to local governments across Wisconsin is good news for Fond du Lac.   Roughly $1.6 billion in aid to local governments, known as shared revenue, would be paid for by tapping 20 percent of the state’s 5-cent sales tax.  Aid would then grow along with sales tax revenue.  Fond du Lac city manager Joe Moore says shared revenue has remained nearly unchanged for almost 30 years.  The money could only be spent on police and fire protection, emergency medical services, emergency response communications, public works and transportation.
