The Fond du Lac School District has hired it’s first equity coordinator. The Fond du Lac School Board has approved the hiring of Terrance Lofton to the post effective August 9th. Lofton has taught in the Fond du Lac School District for six years as a science teacher at Sabish Middle School, and currently at Fond du Lac High School. Lofton was also an AVID 10 teacher and a softball coach. “I am excited to join a team where equity is at the heart of our mission,” said Lofton. “Together, we strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every individual’s unique experiences and identities are celebrated and respected.” Before arriving at FDL-SD, Mr. Lofton served in various roles in the private and business sector within the greater Fond du Lac area. Mr. Lofton has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Secondary Education from Marian University and is well-known in the Fond du Lac community. He has been a football and baseball coach within the youth sports community in Fond du Lac. “Mr. Lofton will work closely with the administrative team, teachers and staff to ensure that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally,” said Dr. Jeffrey Fleig, FDL-SD Superintendent. “We are pleased to have Mr. Lofton in this role to expand his work in our district further and ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion are always at the forefront of our educational offerings.” “Mr. Lofton has been an invaluable staff member since he joined our school district six years ago, forming strong partnerships and earning the trust of students, families and staff alike,” said Marisa Lombardo, Director of Human Resources. “We are excited to see what the future holds as he leads the District forward in providing an equitable and inclusive educational experience for each and every student we serve.”
