A Milwaukee man and a Green Bay man face multiple charges following a high speed chase that started in Fond du Lac County. The arrests were part of a multi-jurisdiction drug interdiction task force that included officers from the City of Fond du Lac, Waupun, Rosendale, and Ripon police departments, along with the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group Drug Unit and K9 teams from local agencies. The primary objective was to saturate high drug trafficking areas throughout the county and identify and arrest those involved in illegal drug activity, or other crimes. During an eight hour period last Thursday the task force conducted 95 traffic stops and made fve felony arrests, issued 25 traffic citations, 41 traffic warnings, and seized illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and cash. A high speed chase that started on Interstate 41 and County Highway B in Fond du Lac County, ended nearly 40 miles later in Washington County where the driver and a passenger were arrested at gunpoint. Officers recovered illegal drugs, and two loaded firearms that had been tossed from the vehicle during the chase. Both suspects are currently in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail awaiting their initial appearance.
