Nobody was injured when a plane enroute to the EAA in Oshkosh made a crash landing in Fond du Lac County. Shortly before 8pm Saturday rescue personnel were called to the area of Highway 49 and Hemp Road in the town of Waupun. With the help of a drone, rescue teams located the plane in a wetland area and rescued two men, the 76 year old pilot and a 71 year old passenger, both from Texas. They were headed to EAA in Oshkosh from Cedar Rapids Iowa when the engine suddenly lost power forcing him to make an emergency landing in a marshy area. The plane received damage to a wing and the pilot was treated for a possible shoulder injury by Lifestar Ambulance. The plane involved was a single engine ERCO Ercoupe.
