7-26-23 dodge county sheriff’s office citizen’s academy

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has announced applications are being accepted for the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Academy.  This program is meant to give community members the opportunity to learn about the daily operations of the sheriff’s office while also giving them the opportunity to meet and interact with the employees of the sheriff’s office.   Lieutenant Joseph Nicholas is organizing the citizen academy and looks forward to meeting and working with another great class this year. He and others will present topics on the Dodge County Detention Jail, OWI enforcement, recreation patrol, crash investigations, firearms/active shooters, communications, and more. Classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from September 13 – December 20, 2023.   Sheriff Dale Schmidt encourages anyone interested in this program to apply no later than August 25, 2023. Applications can be found on the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office website www.dodgecountysheriff.com or more information on the program can be obtained by contacting Lieutenant Nicholas @ jnicholas@co.dodge.wi.us.
