One of two Fond du Lac men charged in the shooting death of a Fond du Lac man has been convicted. Following a week-long trial a Fond du Lac jury has found 23 year old Julius Freeman Jr. guilty of party to the crime of first degree intentional homicide in the October 2021 death of Benzel Rose. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says a second suspect, and the alleged shooter, Eric Perry, is still awaiting trial. The 26 year old Rose was found dead inside a home in the 300 block of 8th Street with a gunshot wound to the head. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 11th.
