A Fond du Lac man convicted of violently attacking a police officer is going to prison. Fond du Lac County Circuit Judge Laura Lavey sentenced Jayson Keniston to 14 years in prison followed by 15 years extended supervision. Keniston was earlier convicted of multiple charges including Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer. The incident occured in January 2022 when a Fond du Lac police officer responded to a residence for a disorderly conduct complaint. When the officer asked for the defendant’s identification Keniston attacked the officer. The officer suffered a broken nose, a fractured thumb, a ruptured ACL, as well as other cuts and abrasions. The officer still suffers lingering effects from the attack.
