Mile of Music gets underway this week in Appleton featuring music artists from around the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Event organizer Kim Willems says the free event is celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary this year. “Oh my gosh it’s just crazy to think about where we started,” Willems told WFDL news. Willems has been involved with the festival since it’s inception in 2013. “”To see how we’ve evolved and the number of fans who have come through, and the number of artists who have come through is just incredible.” The event is held at several venues along College Avenue starting Thursday and continues through Sunday. “There really is something for everyone,” Willems said. “I , of course, will say The Astronomers. We’re so happy they are coming back!” The Indie-Pop group performs at 10:10pm Thursday at the Paper Valley Hotel Courtyard, 7:10pm Friday at the Paper Valley Ballroom Main Stage, and 8:45pm Saturday at the Houdini Plaza Main Stage. The Astronomers are from Fond du Lac and have several songs playing on radio stations in Wisconsin and across the country.
