Fond du Lac County first responders, emergency management and public health are practicing what they would do in the event of a natural or man-made disaster. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says a disaster exercise was held Thursday at the Community Church. The church was used as a mass shelter during a flood event in 2019. Mueller says one of the biggest challenges is the availability of emergency personnel during an emergency. In March of 2019, more than 300 Fond du Lac residents were displaced by flooding caused by ice jams on the Fond du Lac River.
