Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers made a stop at a child care center in Kewaskum Wednesday to promote his plan to address the state’s worker shortage problem. The governor made a stop at the Little Folks School House. The child care facility serves 77 kids and has received more than $584,000 in Child Care Counts funding since March 2020. Earlier this month the governor called a special legislative session for September in a longshot attempt quickly dismissed by Republicans to approve more than $1 billion in funding they rejected earlier this year for child care services, a family leave program, and the University of Wisconsin System. Evers called the special session for Sept. 20.
