The Fond du Lac Police Chief says a preliminary investigation shows that a Wausau man involved in a shooting incident over the weekend was firing shots into the air. Shortly after 11pm Saturday Fond du Lac police were called to the area of East 2nd Street for multiple reports of possible gunshots and found several handgun casings near the intersection. Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says a 20 year old suspect was located near the area and later transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail. Goldstein tells WFDL news the suspect was intoxicated and had been attending a bonfire in the neighborhood prior to firing the weapon. He says investigators believe at least six shots were fired into the air. No injuries were reported.
