The City of Fond du Lac conducted two celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Monday, showcasing enhancements at Franklin Park and Adelaide Park. The event kicked off at Franklin Park, unveiling a significant transformation made possible by a $250,000 grant secured through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Upgrades include the expansion of the playground, a mural gracing the park’s perimeter fence and newly decorated basketball hoops. An hour lagter the Adelaide Park ceremony focused on the newly installed pickleball courts, allowing Fond du Lac residents to partake in one of the nation’s fastest-growing activities. Adelaide Park will feature six permanent pickleball courts, accounting for two-thirds of the City’s nine permanent courts, as well as one multi-use court on a newly refurbished tennis court.
