MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin state Senate leaders say their chief clerk has resigned in the face of an undisclosed allegation. Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu announced Monday that Senate Chief Clerk Michael Queensland has resigned. LeMahieu said in a statement that Queensland quit following a “credible allegation” and an ensuing independent investigation. The statement didn’t elaborate. LeMahieu spokesperson Brian Radday didn’t immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press inquiring about the nature of the allegation. LeMahieu’s office and the chief clerk’s office have yet to fulfill AP open records quests filed earlier this month seeking copies of any complaints against Queensland.
