Moraine Park held its official groundbreaking celebration this week at the Beaver Dam campus for the Horicon Regional Center. The Horicon Regional Center will house a nearly 18,000-square-foot building for lab and instructional space and a 3,500-square-foot fire training tower to help meet the current demand for firefighters and paramedics at the 50+ fire departments in the region. The facility will also provide training spaces for other programs, helping to meet extended employer needs district-wide. The Center was part of a district-wide referendum approved by voters in the spring election. In addition to the fire training center voters approved renovating the manufacturing and trade center, and the health services and nursing wing at the Fond du Lac campus, and a remodeling project at the West Bend campus.
