The Fond du Lac School Board has approved the 2023-24 budget and tax levy. School District Chief of Finance and Operations Mike Gerlach says the budget reflects the spending of $5.3 million for a new artificial turf football stadium and includes a tax levy increase of 13.7 percent. “It doesn’t mean each individual’s property value is going to go up 13.7 percent. The mill rate is going to be $6.46 per thousand, so for a $100,000 home, that’s about a 12 cent increase per thousand from last year’s mill rate,” Gerlach told WFDL news. Gerlach says that still projected to be the second lowest mill rate in Fond du Lac County.
