A happy ending for a pet dog who was missing for more than three months. Lisa Gyr is the constable in the towns of Friendship and Eldorado and says the border collie had been missing since July when he was spooked, possibly by fireworks, while staying with a caretaker in Oakfield while his family was on vacation. Gyr says the dog had been spotted wandering around Eldorado for about a month. She set a trap, and captured the dog this week. Gyr says the dog was very scared, thin, and full of burrs, and also had a rabies tag that helped track down the owners who live in Mayville. Gyr says more than three months after going missing the little dog recognized his owners when they arrived to pick him up. “As soon as they (owners) got out of the car and he saw them he started quivering and shaking, and that was his family,” Gyr told WFDL news. “He started going crazy, whining, and trying to jump up in her arms. I was just happy. We’re always happy to get a dog back to their family.”
