Nobody was injured in a fire that signficantly damaged a Fond du Lac home. Shortly before 3am Monday firefighters were called to a report of a fire at 130 West Division Street and upon arrival found heavy smoke and fire in the kitchen area. The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before it caused extensive damage to the home. Three pet dogs and a bunny were rescued from the home. Two children were sleeping upstairs and were alerted by smoke alarms. They used a fire escape ladder to safely escape a second floor window. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
