AAA is projecting more than 1.1 million Wisconsinites will travel 50 miles or more during the Thanksgiving holiday. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says that’s the third highest on record, with an expected 2.4 percent more holiday travelers than last year. Jarmusz says gas prices should remain lower than last year. While most people are planning to drive to their destination, Jarmusz says air travel is expected to set a new record for Wisconsin. AAA expects over 113,500 Wisconsinites to fly for Thanksgiving, up more than 8% over last year. AAA expects Wednesday November 22, to be the busiest day on the roads during the holiday travel period.
