11-15-23 fondy food pantry awarded donations to support remodeling efforts

– Fondy Food Pantry (FFP), a local resource for families in need throughout Fond du Lac County, is honored to have been awarded numerous donations from local businesses in support of the Pantry’s remodel efforts.  Most notably, the National Exchange Bank Foundation, Inc. awarded FFP $85,000 for the renovation.   “Since its creation in 1973, Fondy Food Pantry has been supported and uplifted by the greater Fond du Lac community,” said Cindy Taylor, Fondy Food Pantry Board President. “We are humbled by the willingness of local businesses to step up and support our mission as we aim to improve our facilities and better serve our clients.”   Approved by the Fondy Food Pantry Board of Directors earlier this year, FFP recently began the process of updating its facilities, located on Rolling Meadows Drive in Fond du Lac. The remodel project, slated to be completed in December 2023, will not only create more efficiency but also upgrade necessary FFP infrastructure, including the cooler and freezer systems.
“Our goal has been and continues to be helping those in need of supplemental nutrition throughout Fond du Lac County,” Taylor said. “By renovating the Pantry, we can better serve our growing number of clients with an improved Pantry layout and upgrades to key equipment including reach-in coolers and freezers.”   While funds are still actively being raised, more than $130,000 has been donated and earmarked for the Pantry’s much needed remodel. Other major contributions include:
● Fox Valley Savings Bank awarded FFP $15,000.
● Fond du Lac Area Foundation awarded FFP $25,000.
● Society Insurance awarded FFP $5,000.
