11-27-23 respiratory viruses increasing in wisconsin

The state Department of Health Services says flu, COVID-19, and RSV cases are increasing heading into the holiday season, with the state especially seeing an increase in hospitalizations of young children infected with RSV.   Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says respiratory illnesses increase during the colder months as we spend more time indoors.  Mueller says the increase of all three viruses is a sign to get vaccinated to get the best protection ahead of holiday activities and gatherings.  Mueller says take additional steps to prevent spread of illness by staying home from work, school, and other gatherings if you are sick.
