A former North Fond du Lac fire chief has been arrested again for child sex crimes. Fifty seven year old Paul Nelson was orginally arrested nearly two years ago in Texas on Child Pornography charges and still faces prosecution in that case. In the meantime Nelson moved to Montgomery County, Texas where he was arrested last week on charges of Online Solicitation of a Minor and Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography. He is accused of messaging online a child under the age of 14. Nelson is being held in the Montgomery County jail on $200,000 cash bail. Nelson was the fire chief in the village of North Fond du Lac from 2008 to 2012. He was president of the Wisconsin Fire Chief’s Association in 2014-15.
