Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac County home.  The fire was  reported shortly after 12:30 am Saturday at the Vista Christian Retreat at W698 Airport Road near Campbellsport.  When firefighters arrived seven occupants had safely escaped the burning structure. The fire started near a wood burning chimney and fire damage was contained to that area.  There was smoke damage throughout the house.

Starting this week the Fond du Lac County Department of Community Programs and Social Services have merged to form the Department of Human Services.   County executive Sam  Kaufman says the consolidation will eliminate duplication and make the department run more efficiently.   Kaufman says the service locations within these departments will not change with the merger.

Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced a new partnership between Wisconsin and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to strengthen the Badger State’s food supply through the Baldwin-backed American Rescue Plan.
