The Christmas holiday has been made a little brighter for several Fond du lac County children thanks to the annual Fond du Lac County Shop with a Cop program. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says more than 70 kids went shopping with local law enforcement officers Thursday night for gifts at Walmart. “School teachers, counselors, principals nominate the children, and it can be financial need, where the school maybe knows the child’s family is struggling financially,” Waldschmidt told WFDL news. Waldschmidt says it’s a great feeling to see the smile on kids’ faces.
