The chase started shortly after 12:30am Thursday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on northbound Interstate 41 at Johnson Street. The chase continued eastbound on Johnson Street at a high rate of speed and was terminated after the deputy got a license plate. Fond du Lac police later located the vehicle near the intersection of Military Road and Rolling Meadows Drive where another short chase ensued before it was terminated. Another short chase took place on Winnebago Street in North Fond du Lac and was terminated after a mile. The vehicle had struck a tire deflation device and was located at the dead end of Hickory Street and Montana Street. The driver, a 32 year old Appleton man, was arrested at gunpoint. He is a convicted felon, and is currently out bond conditions for felony charges in Fond du Lac County, and misdemeanor bond conditions in Outagamie County. A civilian vehicle and a City of Fond du Lac Police Department squad car also struck the tire deflation devices resulting in flat tires.
