MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee police say an officer has been shot during a standoff with a man holed up in a house. Police Chief Jeffrey Norman says the injured officer is a 38-year-old man with more than 16 years of experience. He says the officer suffered a non-fatal wound and was taken to a hospital. He says the officer was shot when the suspect opened fire on police at the rear of the home Tuesday. Norman says a second officer suffered a minor injury but didn’t require treatment. The officers’ names haven’t been released. Norman says the suspect, a 25-year-old man, eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
