A West Bend man arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run crash in Fond du Lac County made a court appearance for a bond hearing Tuesday. The court ordered $250,000 cash bond for Jatziel Encarnacion who faces a charge of hit and run causing great bodily harm. He is accused of striking a 19 year old woman after she was ejected from a vehicle involved in a crash on Highway 45 near the Fond du Lac-Washington County line. Investigators say the victim was dragged by the vehicle for three miles where she was found dead in the roadway in Washington County. At a press conference last week, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says investigators are still trying to determine if the victim died as a result of injuries from the initial crash or from being struck and dragged by Encarnacion’s vehicle.
