Republican state representative Mark Born of Beaver Dam says an effort to recall Assembly speaker Robin Vos for not supporting Donald Trump is a waste of time and resources. Backers of former president Trump have filed a petition seeking to recall Vos from office citing Vos’s opposition to Trump and his not moving forward with impeaching the state’s top election official. Born says it’s unfortunate that our politics have “gone to this level of silliness.” Those behind the effort have until March 11 to submit nearly 7,000 signatures from voters in Vos’s southeast Wisconsin Assembly district to force the recall election.
