MADISON – Public Service Commission (PSC) Commissioner Tyler Huebner released the following statement in response to today’s vote in the Wisconsin State Senate:
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the people of Wisconsin as a Public Service Commissioner over the past four years. The work of the Commission ensuring safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible utility services and equitable access to broadband is integral to the success and well-being of the people, businesses, and institutions across Wisconsin. “I am proud of the work I put in and the decisions I made to balance safety, reliability, and affordability in the delivery of utility services, get people connected to high-speed internet, remove lead service lines and ensure clean drinking water, and so much more. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to elevate Wisconsin’s reliability and energy planning needs within our region by serving as the Vice President of the Organization of MISO States last year and being unanimously elected to serve as President for 2024 by my colleagues. “I am moving forward, and I plan to build on my work at the Commission and throughout my career to tackle some of the big challenges of our times in a different capacity. “I want to thank Governor Evers for appointing me in March of 2020 and re-appointing me in March of 2021, and for his leadership prioritizing energy security, broadband expansion, and clean water. I want to thank Chairperson Valcq for her excellent leadership of this agency, and I know incoming Chairperson Strand will also do an excellent job. I want to thank the dedicated staff of the Commission whose expertise and commitment to excellence is on display every single day and is vital to the agency’s success. Thank you to my advisor, Elizabeth Wheeler, for your steadfast leadership and support. “Finally, but most importantly, I want to thank my wife Heather and my kids for all their support throughout my career, particularly in these past four years.”
