The Department of Public Works would like remind residents of the importance of clearing the storm catch basins located at intersections and along the streets. Storm water catch basins are the small inlets along the curb that collect melting snow or rainwater to remove it from the street. The upcoming forecast include rain and warmer temperatures. Currently, a vast majority of the City’s catch basins are covered with snow and ice, which can result in street flooding. Residents can help reduce street flooding by assisting in clearing the catch basins. Residents unsure of where the nearest catch basin is located can contact the City Engineering Division at 920-322-3470 for a location or visit the City’s Online Map at https://adopt-a-storm-drain-fonddulac.hub.arcgis.com/. City crews are out clearing catch basins; however, they are only able to clear a fraction of the catch basins located throughout the City. With the public’s assistance, we can potentially prevent localized flooding that can affect the traversability of the roadways, emergency response and damage to private property.
