Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a car in Waupun. Fire Chief BJ DeMaa says the fire happened Monday morning on the east side of the city. DeMaa says the driver parked the vehicle when the warning light indicating low power came on. “Turned the vehicle off, turned it back on. They wanted to essentially see if it was a code issue. It was not so they returned home,” DeMaa said. DeMaa said when the vehicle was parked in the driveway the driver noticed there was fire underneath the front hood and dialed 911. When firefighters arrived on the scene the car engine was fully engulfed in flames.
