2-1-24 above normal temperatures expected to continue into next week

With sturgeon spearing season right around the corner above normal temperatures are in the forecast for the foreseeable future. National Weather Service meteorologist Denny Van Cleve says high temperatures are expected to be close to 10 to 15 degrees above normal into next week.    “We were expecting it to be a mild winter with El Nino.  It’s not unusual to get a warm-up in winter but to have these long, persistent stretches of temperatures above freezing is a bit unusual,”  Van Cleve told WFDL news.  Van Cleve says normal daytime highs this time of year are in the upper 20s with overnight lows in the low teens.
