2-2-24 fdl school district commemorates black history month

As we approach February, the Fond du Lac School District proudly celebrates Black History Month, which is dedicated to honoring the significant contributions and achievements of black Americans throughout history. This year, we are thrilled to announce a special event designed to educate and inspire.  To deepen our understanding of black history and literature, Fond du Lac High School will host a distinguished black author, Rod Van Blake. Renowned for his captivating fiction and fantasy novels, Rod will share insights into his experiences, creative process and the importance of diverse storytelling.    This event provides an opportunity not only to celebrate Black History Month but also for individuals of all backgrounds to learn from and connect with this talented and creative author. Rod’s unique perspective and creative journey are sure to leave a lasting impact on those in attendance.  On Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in the Fond du Lac High School Libary Media Center, Rod will engage with Fond du Lac High School students during the fourth (starting at 10:30a), fifth (11:20a) and sixth hours (12:10p), followed by a 5:30p session after school. We hope everyone can join at a time that suits their schedules.  We eagerly anticipate Rod’s insights on graphic novels, his passion for being an author, the motivations behind his work, his current projects and his life experiences.  Join the Fond du Lac School District in extending a warm welcome to Rod Van Blake at Fond du Lac High School on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
