Fond du Lac’s premier winter tourism event is being held this weekend with one major change due to the warmer than normal temperatures. Destination Lake Winnebago Region’s Craig Molitor says all of the events for Sturgeon Spectacular this weekend will be held in downtown Fond du Lac. “It’s not ideal. Generally speaking everything that happens for Sturgeon Spectacular is still going to happen, there are some qualifications there, but it’s going to happen in the downtown district, ” Molitor told WFDL news. “My request to your listeners is please visit us online so you can check out what’s happening.” The state snow sculpting competition is the most popular event of the weekend, and Molitor says at this point the event is still on despite temperatures that are forecast in the upper 40s and even low 50s this week. Molitor says the event has grown tremendously since it was launched nine years ago.
