Despite unusually warm temperatures Sturgeon Spectacular will take place this weekend in downtown Fond du Lac. Fond du Lac Festivals director Pete Wilke says this year all activities scheduled for Lakeside Park are moving to downtown Fond du Lac. “Obviously there’s been some changes that we’ve had to make,” Wilke told WFDL news. “Our heart goes out to all the sturgeon spearers that don’t feel safe going out on the ice.” Wilke says fortunately the event has been developed to be at least somewhat weather-proof, including the snow scultpting competition which is still a go despite the warm weather and rain.
