A West Bend man arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run crash in Fond du Lac County has been bound over for trial. Probable cause was found at a preliminary hearing Friday for Jatziel Encarnacion on a charge of hit and run causing great bodily harm. He is accused of striking a 19 year old woman after she was ejected from a vehicle involved in a crash on Highway 45 near the Fond du Lac-Washington County line, and dragging the victim by the vehicle for three miles where she was found dead in the roadway in Washington County. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says investigators believe the victim died as a result of injuries from the initial crash, and not from being struck and dragged by Encarnacion’s vehicle. He is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $250,000 cash bail.
