Two Beaver Dam firefighters injured in an airboat crash on Beaver Dam Lake have been released from the hospital and a third remains hospitalized. The crash happened shortly after 7:30pm Monday while the Department was conducting ice rescue training on Beaver Dam Lake near Grape Island. During the training, a fire department hovercraft struck the island and injured three Firefighters on board. All three Firefighters were treated on scene by Beaver Dam Paramedics and transported to the emergency department. Two of the Firefighters were treated and released Tuesday morning. The third Firefighter,was flown by helicopter to Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc where he is hospitalized in stable condition. The incident is currently under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
