The state Department of Justice has identified the North Fond du Lac Police officer and subject involved in a deadly shooting following a traffic stop on Interstate 41 earlier this month. The incident happened Friday evening February 2nd when North Fond du Lac police sergeant Bryce LaLuzerne attempted to stop a vehicle on 41 and a pursuit ensued. The chase ended when the vehicle ran over stop sticks near County Highway Z in Winnebago County. The driver, 36 year old Lawrence Drennan, called 911 reporting he had a gun. When Drennan exited his vehicle and approached police, sergeant LaLuzerne fired his gun, fatally striking Drennan. Sergeant LaLuzerne remains on administrative duty, per department policy. The incident remains under investigation.
