The president of business operations for the Milwaukee Brewers says he is confident the team can compete for the Division title this season despite losing some top players and manager from last year. President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger says he’s excited about the upcoming season. “I’ve been doing this for 21 years and it never gets old,” Schlesinger told AM 1170s Between the Lines program. “The novelty is still there, the excitement is still there. We have a good, young team. The division is going to be more challenging cause all the teams are getting better, but that’s what makes baseball fun. I’m very excited to see how these guys break camp and looking forward to a really exceptional year.” Meanwhile, Schlesinger says the team is seeking nominations for the Hometown Champion and Superfan Awards. The Hometown Champions Award is designed to honor the courage, commitment, and sacrifices of the men and women in fire rescue service, law enforcement, emergency medical services, and first responder roles across Wisconsin. A nominee for the Brewers Superfan Spotlight must be an individual residing in Wisconsin who shows an exceptional dedication to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers are also launching what’s called Wisconsin First Fridays, a new initiative where any Wisconsin resident can get half off tickets the first Friday of every month.
