Town of Taycheeda chairman Joe Thome has died from injuries from a fall in Fond du Lac County. According to an obituary from the Uecker-Witt Funeral home, Thome died Tuesday. He was 62. According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Thome fell more than 10 feet while working inside a building in the town of Taycheeda. Thome was a staple in the Fond du Lac County agricultural community and chairman of the Town of Taycheedah. Thome was a graduate of Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Parish of Fond du Lac, St. Peter Lions, Chair of the FSA County Committee, member of the Fond du Lac County Land Conservation Committee and many other local organizations and committees. He is survived by his wife, Diane, four children, grandchildren and several siblings. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 13, from 3pm-7pm at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and 10:30am to 11:45am at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday March 14, at noon at Holy Family Church. In lieu of flowers, plants and gifts, a memorial will be established in Joe’s name.
