The Chegwin Elementary School principal has been selected to be the new Fond du Lac School District director of Facility Services and Safety. Nate Groves will begin his duties July 1. Groves has been with the Fond du Lac School District since 2016, serving as a teacher and assistant principal at Fond du Lac High School before taking over as principal at Chegwin. Mr. Groves began his educational career in Arizona, teaching various social studies courses at Bagdad and Paradise Honors high schools. His dedication to continual development was evident in his roles as a student council advisor and coach for varsity volleyball, basketball and soccer teams. Groves received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Cardinal Stritch University and a master’s in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. “We are delighted to have Nate Groves as our new Director of Facility Services and Safety,” said Dr. Jeff Fleig, Superintendent. “His commitment to excellence and innovation aligns perfectly with our goals, ensuring our facilities are safe and conducive to learning. With Mr. Groves at the helm, we are confident our facilities team will excel, benefiting our students and staff.” “Our district appreciates Mr. Groves’s interest in leading the Facility Services and Safety Division. We are confident that he will guide the department toward continuous growth and effectively leverage the team’s expertise.” Dr. Fleig says the search for a new principal for Chegwin will take place in the coming months, ahead of the 2024-25 school year.
