3-14-24 biden brings campaign to wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (AP) — President Joe Biden is visiting Wisconsin and Michigan, looking to shore up a “blue wall” of swing states that long backed Democrats in presidential races. He had won them back from Donald Trump in order to claim the White House four years ago. His trip began in Milwaukee on Wednesday, where he announced $3.3 billion for infrastructure projects in disadvantaged communities. Administration officials have focused on neighborhoods that were carved up by interstate highways decades ago, such as Milwaukee’s 6th Street. A project intended to reconnect parts of the road is slated to receive $36 million. Biden and Trump clinched their parties’ nominations this week, setting up a rematch in November.
