3-21-24 fdl county board approves hiring three new sheriff’s deputies

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is beefing up it’s patrol.   The Fond du Lac County Board has approved the hiring of three new patrol deputies.  County executive Sam Kaufman says the county currently does not have enough deputies on the road.  “Public safety has always been my number one priority and it’s been very concerning to me for a number of years that we don’t have enough officers on the road,”  Kaufman told WFDL news.  “With the number that we have if you have an incident that takes place in one part that requires officers to go over there now you have areas that are not attended to provide quicker responses.”   Kaufman says the plan is to hire 12 new deputies over the next three years.
