3-22-24 state senator dan feyen statement on bills signed into law

Madison, WI – State Senator Dan Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) released the following statement after Governor Evers signed 4 bills into law.

“At the end of another great legislative session, I am happy to see four more bills I authored signed into law today.  “AB 627, now Wisconsin Act 143, makes several changes to the Business Development and Enterprise Zone Tax Credits, ensuring the credits are more widely available for businesses to utilize. This bill also adds a 15% credit on a businesses’ investment into workforce housing or a childcare facility. This will help to get the business community involved in solving both our housing and childcare issues.  “AB 932, now Wisconsin Act 144, simplifies the criteria to be considered a qualified new business venture. This will help more businesses apply for the credit.  “AB 933, now Wisconsin Act 145, will allow for more out-of-state angel investors to invest in Wisconsin businesses by giving them the ability to sell or transfer their tax credit to someone with a Wisconsin tax liability. This will help to spur further investments into Wisconsin startups.   “Lastly, AB 910, now Wisconsin Act 150, will help level the playing field between out-of-state cigar and tobacco retailers and Wisconsin brick and mortar retailers by clarifying when and where excise tax is collected on the online sale of cigars and pipe tobacco.  “I am excited we were able to get these important bills across the finish line this session.”
