The coordinator of Wisconsin’s Agriculture in the Classroom program says agricultural literacy projects help students learn how agricultural products that are used every day impact your life and ultimately get from the farm to the table. Coordinator Beth Schaefer says the grant program supports teachers who need additional funding to make big ideas come to life. Schaefer says agriculture provides nearly one in every nine jobs in the state, and has a more than $1 billion annual economic impact in Fond du Lac County. School Forest Curriculum Backpacks in Campbellsport schools, Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agri Business Council’s Little Hands on the Farm, and the Waupun Parks and Rec Ag in the Park program each received $500 grants.
