The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin is encouraging residents to vote no on two constitutional amendments that could alter how future elections are run. The amendments will appear on the April ballot. One would make it illegal to accept private grant month to help administer elections. The Republican proposal was in response to grant money provided to states by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg’s foundation to run safe elections during the pandemic. League director Debra Cronmiller says its not the first time outside money has been donated for election administration. Another amendment would allow only election officials designated by law to administer elections. If a majority of voters approve, the amendments would be added to the state’s constitution.
