A 19 year old Fond du Lac man is in custody following a high speed chase. The chase started shortly before 1:30 Sunday morning when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on southbound Interstate 41 at Lincoln Road. The vehicle ran over a tire deflation device on 41 at Scott Street and ended when the suspect vehicle struck a police squad on the Military Road off ramp.  While traveling up the off-ramp, the suspect vehicle abruptly braked and turned in the path of the pursuing deputy. The suspect vehicle struck the front passenger side of the deputy’s fully-marked patrol squad. The deputy utilized evasive maneuvers after the collision, and was able to maintain control of the patrol squad. The suspect vehicle came to a stop after the collision, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.  There were no other occupants in the suspect vehicle during the pursuit.   The pursuit lasted 10 miles. Nobody was injured. The driver faces multiple charges including recklessly endangering safety, eluding, and criminal damage to property.
